Join our Facebook Auction Page and Bid on Some Great Items!

Did you know that we’ve reunited more than 5,000 lost dogs in the last nine years?

And we bet you already know that 2020 has been a rough years as a non-profit, it has been pretty rough on us too. We rely on fundraisers and donations to keep our site going so that we can reunite lost dogs with their owners, but we’ve had to cancel almost everything we had planned for this year.

But we came up with a solution.

This winter, we are running our first Winnipeg Lost Dog Facebook Auction! We are going to have a ton of great auction items, but we need your help.

First, we need you to join our Facebook auction group! You can’t bid on an item if you don’t belong to the group! Here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/738902946933233

Second, while we have some really great auction items, we are looking for more. Here’s what’s on our wish list:

  • Anything dog related—because isn’t that what we’re all about? That could be leashes, collars, dog treats, dog beds, dog blankets, things with dogs on them like notebooks, towels, etc… you get the idea. We even like cats, so we’ll take cat stuff too. Actually, we’ll take anything animal related
  • Gift cards – everyone loves gift cards. We aren’t picky. If you have a gift card hanging around that you’ll never use, we’ll take it! We don’t care if it’s Tim’s, Starbucks, Chapters, a mall gift card, a restaurant gift card, Michael’s, Home Depot or anything in between
  • We’ll take just about anything else—but we ask that it be new. So if you have some something you think you’ll never use, or a gift you wish you’d never received, we’ll take it. To give you an idea of items we’d like, here’s a brief list:
    • candles
    • collectables
    • houseware and kitchen items
    • decorative items for the house
    • DVDs
    • food items like tea and coffee (non-perishable items)
    • artwork
    • stationary
    • jewelry
    • hobby and craft items
    • books
    • cosmetics, creams and lotions
    • small pieces of furniture and more
    • premade gift baskets

Our goal is to run two auctions a year. Proceeds from the auction will help us pay for things like upkeep of our website (it can get pretty costly), insurance, and other day-to-day operations so that we can keep Winnipeg Lost Dog Alert up and running.

If you can help us out with donations, contact Anna at pr@winnipeglostdogalert.com and don’t forget to join our Winnipeg Lost Dog Alert Facebook page. We plan to run our first auction at the end of October or early November.

So stay tuned.
